Fr. Martin’s
reflection on - Our Lady’s Message
25th
May 2017
“Dear children, The Most High has permitted me to call you anew to
conversion. Little children, open your hearts to the grace to which you are all
called. Be witnesses of peace and love in this peaceless
world. Your life here on earth is passing. Pray that through prayer you may
yearn for Heaven and the things of Heaven and your hearts will see everything
differently. You are not alone; I am with you and intercede before my Son Jesus
for you. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
Dear Brothers and Sisters
of Medjugorje North east and beyond,
Let us begin our reflection
on this month's message from Mary Queen of Peace by turning to the Holy
Scriptures. Here we shall find the necessary help and inspiration to aid us in
our thought's.
In Matthew 19:16, we read
of the rich young man and his encounter with the Lord. It is an encounter that
opens the possibility of a new life for him with Jesus. he begins with a
very noble and sincere request.
"Good Master
what must I do to inherit eternal Life?" (Matt:19:16)
This is the fundamental
question every human being can ask. It connects our everyday choices and living
with our eternal destiny.
We should ask it before the
Lord in prayer too. "Jesus, what must I do to get to
Heaven?"
The question of eternal
life is at the heart of this month's message, and Mary, Queen of Peace, wants
to assist us on the road to Heaven, to keep us on the right track.
I would like to ask you a
question: Have you read this month's message thoroughly ruminated
on it, before you read my words?
What does Mary want to say
to you personally in this message?
Allow with patience, Our
Lady to speak to your heart, in her school of Prayer and Love that we call
Medjugorje.
Prayer is the most often
conveyed message that Our Lady has given us all these years.
Prayer is contact with God,
an encounter with the Lord who is Love and Freedom. The Most
High who is The Way, The Truth and The Life, for each one of us,
calls us on the road to eternity.
When we are in union with
the Lord in prayer, then we discover that it is possible to Love, and to become
better.
Every conversion is
a personal conversion, Mary's words are for you!
After thirty-six years Mary
calls us to be her witnesses.
A witness is
someone who knows truth.
Truth that leads to
something greater.
Mary's witnesses are
those who stand against a worldly mentality and with the power of the Most
High reflect His Truth and Love.
Mary need's witnesses
and we can become those witnesses.
Our Lady has often told us
she can do nothing alone, that she need's us, needs our families, need's
prayerful people whose arms are outstretched in Prayer for this world.
Only when we love, and only
when we forgive can we become true witnesses, and this is the core of
everything.
All of this serves the same
thing: Eternal life.
If we say "Yes"
to the Most High like Mary at the Annunciation,
and all that she requests of us, then we will have a true encounter with
Jesus. This real encounter with him will give us Peace, Joy and the
Strength for doing good, for life.
To live in the light of
eternity is the message for us all.
When we know that we live
in the promise of Heaven, with the desire for Heaven, which only the Holy
Spirit can give, then we know with the heart, that death does not have the last
word, then we can believe that Love is stronger than hate, Hope
stronger than hopelessness and distrust, then we also decide for the dignity of
this life too. For our eternal life begins here.
With the desire for heaven
in our hearts, then it is not difficult to walk the path of conversion each
day, to grow in Faith, Prayer and Love.
"Your life here on
earth is passing. Pray that through prayer you may yearn for Heaven and
the things of Heaven, and your hearts will see everything
differently."
Prayer enables this
difference to come about.
Our Lady Queen of Peace
calls us to prepare ourselves for eternal life-for the eternal Easter for which
we were all made.
"Good
Master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" (Matt:19:16)
