Fr. Martin’s
reflection on - Our Lady’s Message
25th
March 2026

“Dear
children! The poison of selfishness and hatred rules human hearts and that is why
you do not have peace. I am calling you, little children: be love and my
extended hands to all those whom you meet. In humility, pray for peace and work
on reconciliation among people, so that it may be good for every person on
earth.
Thank you for having
responded to my call.”

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Medjugorje North
East and beyond,
From the start of the apparitions of Our Lady
in Medjugorje, Mary has introduced herself as ‘Mother and Queen of Peace.’ It is as the queen of Peace she comes to us,
to lead us towards the fulness of peace in her Son, Jesus. “Peace must reign
between God and man”
were her fist words , June 24th 1981. In this month’s message
Our Lady implores the world to discover the path of peace, by asking each of us
to be love, and people of reconciliation, ‘So that it may be good for you on
earth.’
Our Lady begins, “The poison of
selfishness and hatred rules human hearts and that is why you do not have
peace.” Peace begins in a person’s heart, it begins by our deciding for peace. It begins when we decide for forgiveness, and
to see thing’s from the others point of view.
The situation in the world today, is not the result of politics, or
ideology, it is primarily one of the human heart. It is a spiritual problem inside people, who
have forgotten the true means of living well.
Our Lady says this is because of ‘Selfishness’ and ‘hatred,’ which
like poison infiltrates the human heart and results in a lack of peace for
everyone. Humanity needs no other form
of peace than the peace that comes from God. This is the real peace that Our
Lady calls us to, the
peace that knows the conditions of conversion towards life and towards God, -
prayer, fasting, and permitting oneself to be led by the Holy Spirit. The
poison Our Lady speaks of is from Satan, and therefore everyone needs to turn
towards God and in humility offer their hearts to him. “For out of the heart ,
comes evil thoughts.” (
Matthew : 15. 19)
“I am calling you little children, be
love, and my extended hands to all those you meet.
The foremost enemy of peace is human egoism.
The wrong relationship between oneself and others and also towards God. Let us think of Our Lady, her Faith and her
Humility. Her heart was always saying
yes to God, from this flowed her Joy and her love. Without humility, joy and love remain
unimaginable, because humility means nothing more than a correct relationship
towards oneself, as a gift to others.
Mary, was Gods gift
to us, and Mary grew in that giving of herself to God and others. Even now she
gives of herself to us, by being with us.
A person who forgets they are a gift for others soon becomes haughty,
and see’s everything from within himself, and that everything should serve him
alone. Wherever love is not
unconditional and not strived for, one cannot speak of love at all.
Our Lady asks us to be ‘love’ and we can only
become her extended hands by deciding for love as a self- willed decision. Like her we need to abandon ourselves to the
love of Jesus and his will for each one of us.
‘In humility pray for peace, and work on
reconciliation among people, so that it may be good for every person on earth.”
Each of us can only begin with our own
personal situation, in our own way. The
starting point is ‘Prayer.’ In the
humility of our hearts to recognise that without
Prayer, then the fruits of our work will come to little. Everything begins in prayer, and a humble
person always knows this. The fruit of prayer is peace and reconciliation, and
so we work for the advancement of everyone person by prayer for them and with
them. Each of us are asked by Our Lady
to work on reconciliation among people, and the starting point is always
prayer.
The world is on a path of destruction, let us
live Our Lady’s messages with joy and Easter hope, and so become an oasis of
peace, with the intention of making it good for every person on earth.
A Blessed and Holy Easter,
Fr. Martin
